Obituary for
Janice Foster (Brewer)
Janice B. Foster, of Simsbury, wife of the late John J. Foster, died on Monday, October 3, 2016 at McLean in Simsbury. Born in Starkey, NY, daughter of the late Edith and Charles Brewer, Jan lived in New York State and Ohio and had made her home in Simsbury since 1967. Before her retirement in 1991, Jan was employed by the Simsbury Board of Education for twenty-two years and was a Social Studies Teacher at the High School. She was a member of the Simsbury United Methodist Church, active in the Daughters of the American Revolution, a volunteer of the Simsbury Library and was a member of the Simsbury Farms Woman’s Golf Association.
Jan is survived by her son, Kevin Foster, two much loved grandsons, John Ryan and James Michael and their mother, Susan Foster. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Jan was predeceased by brothers George and Charles Brewer and sisters, Ellen and Rosalee Brewer.
Jan’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of McLean for the loving care they provided.
