Obituary for Sylvia M. Bahre (Muzyk)

Sylvia (Muzyk) Bahre, 77, of Simsbury, beloved wife of David W. Bahre, Sr., died Friday, October 13, 2017 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. She was born September 3, 1940 in Hartford, daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Hooper) Muzyk and had been a lifelong resident of Simsbury. Mrs. Bahre was employed by the Simsbury Bank for many years prior to her retirement. A fervent lover the Catholic Church and Jesus Christ, she was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Simsbury. Sylvia loved spending time with her family and friends, bowling, swimming and roller skating, and enjoyed being of service to others.
Besides her loving husband of 41 years, she is survived by her son, Steven Cleary of Windsor Locks; her daughter, Lori Bilodeau and her husband Larry of Enfield; her step-sons, Jared Bahre of Lake Wales, FL and Paul Bahre and his wife Kathy of Granby; her step-daughter, Linda Bahre of Bennington, VT; her grandchildren, Amy Bahre and Leah, Aaron Bahre and Lance Butler and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, David W. Bahre, Jr. and her brother, Joseph Muzyk.
Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Wednesday, October 18th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 19th at St. Mary’s Church, 942 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. Burial will follow in Simsbury Cemetery.
