Obituary for Mary Marecki (Mikulski)

Mary (Mikulski) Marecki, 99, of Simsbury, widow of Henry Marecki, died Saturday, October 21, 2017 at MeadowBrook of Granby. Born April 23, 1918 in Simsbury, she was the daughter of the late Ignacy and Sophie (Cebula) Mikulski and had resided all her lifetime in Simsbury. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Ensign Bickford as a Senior Technician in Research. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Simsbury, St. Mary’s Ladies Guild, the AARP and the Simsbury Senior Center. Mary was a volunteer at McLean’s Senior Center and RSVP.
She is survived by her two sons Chester Marecki and his wife Frances of Grand Bay, AL and Vaughan Marecki and his wife Jean of Simsbury; nine grandchildren which brought her much joy and happiness; 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Bruce Marecki as well as her sister, step-brother and step-father.
There are no calling hours. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 25th at St. Mary’s Church, 942 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. Burial will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Tariffville. In lieu of flowers, it was Mary’s wish that donations be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
