Gary was a graduate of Northeastern University, class of 1970, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy. Gary continued his education at Suffolk Law School, obtaining his Juris Doctor in 1974 and finally at George Washington University where he earned his Master of Laws in Taxation in 1976. Gary was a founding Partner at O’Connell, Attmore and Morris LLC, in Hartford where he practiced law for more than 30 years. Gary, was a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the Executive Committee for the section on Taxation, he assisted in the formation of the Connecticut Consortium of Education Foundations and was also a former member of the Board of Directors for the New England Region of the Arthritis Foundation. Gary enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, skiing and playing golf. Gary loved to read anything he could get his hands on, but his favorite books were science fiction. But, above all else, Gary loved being with his four grandchildren.

Aside from his wife of 45 years and his father, Gary is survived by his children, Brett Attmore and his wife Susan of Simsbury and Kristen Hayden and her husband Trevor of Canton; four grandchildren, Noah Hayden (14), Mason Attmore (6), Lucas Attmore (4), and Quinn Hayden (2); his sister, Gail Brainard and her husband Carl of Castle Rock, CO.

Gary never met a stranger he didn't enjoy talking to and find a connection with. Gary was known by his patience, strength, intellect, grace, empathy and most of all his humor. He will be forever loved and missed.
