We would like to add our thoughts to those from all of us at Fidelco who knew Steve and treasured his invaluable work guiding the school through turbulent times to a bright future. Steve’s discipline, dedication, and most of all his understanding of the life-changing power of Fidelco guide dogs was a blessing to Fidelco. Karen knows of Steve’s vital work not only from serving with him on the board, but also as a guide-dog handler now on her second Fidelco-trained dog. She said as recently as this morning yet again that the only good thing she knows about going blind is that she gets to take so loving, smart, and skilled a dog everywhere she goes. And, as Karen will also say anytime anyone asks, she wouldn’t go nearly as many places as quickly and independently as she does without her trusted dogs leading the way. Steve will be sorely missed. His life has made a profound difference to all of us experiencing changed lives due to Fidelio. Karen and Basil Petrou
