Obituary for Lorenzo Casalino

Lorenzo "Larry" Casalino, 87, of Weatogue, beloved husband of Helen (Woolford) Casalino, died Monday, June 11, 2018 at Arden Courts of Avon. He was born November 11, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Gaetano and Frances (Puzziferri) Casalino and had lived in Glastonbury prior to moving to Weatogue over 50 years ago. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Navy. Larry was a graduate of City Tech College, having received his Degree in Design Engineering. Mr. Casalino was a National Sales Manager for Waring Products for many years prior to his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed photography, was a member of the Simsbury Camera Club and had gone on many Saturday camera trips with his good friend Dave Girardin. Larry also loved motorcycles, flying aircraft as a private pilot and had enjoyed wood carving and painting.

Besides his loving wife of 58 years, Larry is survived by his son, Guy Casalino and his wife Francine of West Simsbury; his brother, Steve Casalino and his wife Angie of Manchester; his grandchildren, Justin and Ryan Casalino of West Simsbury and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Ralph and Mike Casalino and a sister, Marianne Tortora.

The family would like to thank the staff at Arden Courts, as well as the Hospice Nurses for their care over the past 8 months.

Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Friday, June 15th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 16th at the Simsbury Cemetery, 16 Plank Hill Road in Simsbury.
