Obituary for Ronald Ranaldi

Ronald  Ranaldi
Ronald Ranaldi, 85, of Simsbury, beloved husband of Sally (Norris) Ranaldi, died Friday, July 27, 2018 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. He was born September 9, 1932 in New Britain, son of the late George and Dominica (Brasile) and had lived in Simsbury for over 60 years. Ronnie was a graduate of New Britain High School. Ronnie was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Tutuila. Ronnie owed the simsbury shoe shop from 1957-1975. Ronnie was a custodian at Simsbury Public Schools for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Simsbury United Methodist Church, the Simsbury Metacomet VFW Post #1926, Simsbury American Legion Post #84 and the Masonic Unity Lodge #148 in New Britain. Ron enjoyed working on and driving antique cars with his close friend Frank Iacino and travel and was a fan of the New York Yankees, New York Giants and UCONN Womens Basketball.

Besides his loving wife of 60 years, he is survived by his daughter, Laura Ranaldi and her husband Jonathan Hatch of Lynn, MA; his brothers, Joseph Ranaldi and his wife Arlene of Naples, FL and Aurelio Ranaldi and his wife Mary Lou of Avon; a special nephew, Ronald Ranaldi and special niece, Dr. Nina O'Connell of New Jersey as well as his other nieces and nephews in New Jersey Connecticut and Maine, and his special friends, James and Dale Usko.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 1st, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at the funeral home at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 2nd followed by burial in Simsbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Metacomet VFW Post #1926, 754 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury, CT 06070 or to the Masonic Home, 22 Masonic Avenue, Wallingford, CT 06492.
