Obituary for Stephen Zaylor

Stephen Zaylor, 58, of Simsbury, died Sunday, October 21, 2018 at his home after a long, private fight with cancer. He was born December 12, 1959 in Lakewood, OH, son of Donald Zaylor of Simsbury and the late Audrey (Baker) Zaylor and had lived in Simsbury for most of his life. Stephen was a self-employed contractor and talented carpenter. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Simsbury. He enjoyed fishing, sports, music (especially the Grateful Dead), and, most of all, he enjoyed being with his family and friends.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his seven siblings, Patricia Zaylor of Simsbury, Thomas Zaylor and his wife Judith of Enfield, James Zaylor and his wife Marie of West End, NC, Susan Allen and her husband Charles of Rye, NH, Richard Zaylor and his wife Becky of Lynden, WA, Mary Storrs of Carlisle, MA, and Paul Zaylor and his wife Constance of Hanover, MA; 15 nieces and nephews and one grandniece.
Stephen’s family will receive friends at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Sunday, October 28th from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 29th at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 265 Stratton Brook Road in West Simsbury. Burial will follow in Simsbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to FAVARH, 225 Commerce Drive, Canton, CT 06019.
