Obituary for Angel F. Rodriguez Sr.

Angel Felipe Rodriguez, Sr., 71, of Manchester, died unexpectedly on Friday, November 9, 2018 at home in the arms of his beloved wife, Marlene (Fernandez) Rodriguez. He was born in Havana, Cuba, son of the late Angel and Constantina (Vazquez) Rodriguez, and had moved to the US, to Simsbury with his parents and sister when he was 16 years old. He attended the Simsbury High School, was a graduate of New York University having earned his BS in Electrical Engineering and had been employed by AT&T for 42 years prior to his retirement in 2014. Angel was a theme park enthusiast having loved going to many with his family and enjoyed the beach. He had a talent for fixing anything and everything, no matter what it was, earning the name “your everyday Bob Villa” from his family. Above all, family came first. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all who were blessed enough to know him.
He is survived by his loving wife Marlene, with whom he recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary; his three sons, Angel Luis Rodriguez and his wife Kimberly of Merrimack, NH, Angel Felipe Rodriguez, Jr. of Simsbury and Edward Rodriguez and his wife Linnette of Manchester, seven grandchildren, Chrystal, Eddie, Nicholas, Dani, Ari, Casi and Maddisyn; his sister, Teresa Rodriguez of Simsbury and his best friend, Jorge Mont’os.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 13th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 14th with burial to follow in Simsbury Cemetery.
