I worked with Joe for a number of years at The Hartford. I started my career with him as my supervisor and thanks to his mentoring and encouragement I stood the course and ended up retiring from there after 32 years.. Years later I recall joining him and his family at MT Ascutney in VT when he gave my young twin sons a ski lesson. I was told they called him “Okemo Joe” for his love and skill on the mountain.
Joe was always upbeat, with a positive attitude and a sterling work ethic. An all around nice guy.
My condolences go out to his family during this difficult time.

Very sad to hear of the passing of my old high school buddy. We had lost touch over the years but I never forgot how much fun we had joking around our senior year. We would be laughing so hard, some teachers refused to sit us anywhere near each other. Joe loved music and we spent many hours in my bedroom listening to all the great tunes from the '60s that defined our era. Joe would always grab my guitar and put on a great "air guitar" show. Our friendship continued as we both attended Northwest Community College in Winsted. I will never forget the kindness he showed me after I totaled my car, I had no transportation to/from school and before I even started looking for a solution, Joe immediately stepped up and offered to give me rides each day until I replaced my car.

I only new his sister Nancy, so to Nancy and Joe's immediate family, please accept my condolences.

RIP Moe...

Dear Uncle Joe,
When I think of you I remember a chuckle and a laugh. And your mustache:) You were a sweetheart of an Uncle and will be dearly missed. I’m glad Mom there to welcome you❤️ And Grandad and his cigars.
