Obituary for Edys Currier Eberly

Edys Currier Eberly, 91, of River Ridge in Avon, formerly of Niantic and Fairfield CT, beloved wife of 62 years to the late David H Eberly, died June 20, 2019 at home. She was born September 28, 1927 in Rochester, PA to Edson James Currier and Mary (Cole). The family moved to Chambersburg, PA where Edys and her brother Dean went to school and Edys earned a degree in mathematics from Wilson College. After college she worked in the field of statistics for the state of PA. While commuting on the bus to work in Harrisburg, she met David H. Eberly who she later married. She moved to CT with her family in 1967.
Edys enjoyed playing the piano, painting watercolors and sewing. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. After raising her children, she worked for the Town of Fairfield until she retired.
Mrs. Eberly is survived by a daughter Gale Olsen and her husband Charles, two sons, John and his wife Karen, Chris and his wife Susan, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Interment and memorial will be in the State Veterans Cemetery at 317 Bow Lane in Middletown CT on Wednesday, June 26th at 1:00pm. The Vincent Funeral Home of Simsbury is caring for the arrangements.
