My condolences to you, David and Janet, and your families. It was 51 years ago when John and I moved to Canton, and Larry (and Jean, the perfect pair!) guided us through an introduction to many Canton families and involved us in Canton Benefit. It was because of them that our acclimation to a new stage of our life was easy and comfortable. We enjoyed many years of friendship, fun, and working together. May the warm thoughts and memories of yourselves and others comfort you at this difficult time. I am sure that Jean and John were there to meet Larry with open arms!

Mr. Hall shared with me and all of his students a tremendous passion for music. He taught using his humor, intelligence and generosity of knowledge. A fine teacher and great man.

Mr. and Mrs. Hall formed an indelible partnership. I was fortunate enough to know both -- Mrs. Hall in elementary school, helping her wheel her brown piano from room to room on music day, to teaching me the basics of playing the flute in middle school; Mr. Hall playing under his direction in concert band and marching in parades from junior high through to his retirement. Mr. Hall directed the school band and inspired the musical talents of countless Canton students. He was a large presence with a fierce intelligence, a disciplined approach, a good sense of humor, and the strong desire to illuminate the importance of arts in the lives of children and adults alike. All those he touched are now the living legacy - the notes and music - of his life. Godspeed Mr. Hall.

Mr Hall was a wonderful teacher. He was tough, tender, patient and had a unique ability to instill a love of music in even the most giftedly challenged of us all. Both he and his wife leave a legacy of making the world a more artistic place and more profoundly devoting themselves to touching the lives of countless children We should all wish to be remembered so well.
