Obituary for James Schrijn

James Udo Schrijn, 59, of Canton, beloved husband of Theresa (Keane) Schrijn, died Sunday, November 10, 2019 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. He was born October 24, 1960, son of Josepha (Pel) Schrijn of West Hartford and the late Jean Schrijn and had lived in West Hartford prior to moving to Canton 24 years ago. Jim was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served from 1979-1983. Mr. Schrijn was a driver for Ensign-Bickford in Simsbury and previously had worked for the Hartford Courant/Tribute Company for 20 years, also as a driver. He enjoyed hiking and fishing and was a fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox.

In addition to his loving wife of 24 years and his mother, he is survived by his siblings, Jean Robert Schrijn of Farmington, Jolanda Carla Sribanpot and husband Art of Eastham MA, Jeffery Schrijn and wife Holly of Bristol, John Schrijn and wife Evelyn of Belchertown, MA; his niece, Jennifer Thraen and husband Tomas; his nephews, Jason Sribanpot and wife Heather and Josh Sribanpot; and his great niece and great nephews, Sahra, J.J., Max, Charlie and Gabe.

His family will receive friends at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton on Thursday, November 14th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 15th at St. Patrick’s Church, 50 Church Street in Collinsville. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery in Collinsville. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr, Wallingford, CT 06492.
