Thomas Weeks, Sr., 81, of Barkhamsted, died Monday, December 9, 2019 at his home surrounded by family. He was born December 2, 1938 in Hartford, son of the late Joseph and Emily (Litts) Weeks and had lived in Barkhamsted for most of his life. He was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Weeks was in the Maintenance Department at Ensign-Bickford as well as a Truck Driver for Suburban Sanitation Services for many years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed playing softball and pool as well as bowling, was a great carpenter and loved to spend time landscaping and groundskeeping. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with kids and animals.

He is survived by his devoted partner and love of his life, Nancy C. Morse; his children, Thomas Weeks, Jr. and partner Linda Good of New Hartford, Todd Weeks and wife Anita of Winchester, Dale Weeks of Barkhamsted, Jill Weeks and partner Dawn Clark of Torrington and Beth Phillips and husband Glenn of New Hartford; two grandchildren, Connor Jackson Phillips and Jack Weeks; his siblings, Eleanor Zacchera and husband Frank of Canton, Joseph Weeks of Canton and Sandy Galligan and husband Peter of Florida, Shirley Van Deusen Laws of Storrs and Janine Van Deusen Covelli of Pine Meadow and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Van Deusen Chasser.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton at 5:00 PM on Saturday, December 14th.
