Obituary for Sheila Mary Kelleher

Sheila Mary Kelleher, age 77 passed away on Monday January 27th after a brief illness. She was the daughter of John and Beverly (Donlon) Kelleher. Born in Boston she was raised in Storrs, Connecticut. She attended the University of Connecticut and was crowned homecoming queen as a freshman. After graduating from UCONN, Sheila continued her academic career at Wesleyan University earning a Masters Degree. She worked for a number of years in the Wesleyan English department before retiring. Sheila was an avid UCONN sports fan following many of their athletic teams. She was also a lover of Art and Music. Sheila leaves behind her seven brothers and sisters, Maureen Kelleher of Simsbury, Phyllis Kelleher and her partner Roland Cote of Avon, John Kelleher and his wife Cynthia of Avon, Mark Kelleher and his partner Robert Moore of Cromwell, Laura Edgar and her husband Curt of Danville, Vermont, Christopher Kelleher and his wife Kimberly of Granby, and Jane Zambrello and her husband Alfred of Avon. We loved and admired our oldest sister and will miss her more than words can say. In addition to her brothers and sisters she also leaves behind 13 nieces and nephews. According to her wishes, her memorial service will be private with her family. Donations may be made to the Davidson Art Center at Wesleyan University Middletown Connecticut in her memory.
