Obituary for Mark Pilon

Mark Philip Pilon, 52, of Canton, much loved husband of Kateri Anne (Owsiak) Pilon, died Friday, January 31, 2020 at his home. He was born May 24, 1967 in Hartford, son of Dr. Philip and Mary Ann (Motl) Pilon of Simsbury. He was a graduate of Simsbury High School, Class of 1985, and was a painting contractor, having owned and operated Pilon Painting for many years. Mark had a keen mind, enjoyed music and guitar, and loved the Grateful Dead. He treasured and found peace in nature and walked miles of land all over Connecticut. You would always find him on the path less trodden.

In addition to the woman who meant the world to him, he leaves behind a large and extended family. He is survived by his parents, and siblings, Christopher Pilon and wife Vicky of Simsbury, Matthew Pilon and wife Priscilla of Middletown, RI, Andrea O’Brien and husband Dan of West Hartford, Kate Hawkins of Upton, MA and Jon Pilon and wife Heike of Severna Park, MD, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He counted as family his sisters-in-law, Anastazia Owsiak of West Hartford and Kasmira Owsiak of Plainville. He was preceded in death by his irreplaceable son, Norris Pilon.

His wife and family will receive friends at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton on Wednesday, February 5th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 6th at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 265 Stratton Brook Road in West Simsbury. Burial will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to Hartford Healthcare at Home Hospice Bloomfield, 1290 Silas Deane High, Wethersfield, CT 06109, in appreciation of their exceptional and caring service.
