Obituary for Lois Mae Caron (Lynch)

Lois Mae Caron passed away peacefully at her home on March 3rd 2020. She was born on June 24th 1927, grew up as an only child in Collinsville. Despite being an only child, she was very close to all her cousins; Betty, Charlie, Carolyn, Johnny and Bill. Lois was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, George Caron, “Her Marine”.

Lois became a licensed hairdresser. She herself was meticulous about her own hair and wore it in a beautiful French twist and was ultimately coined “The lady with the hair”. She later worked as a bookkeeper, and was always always very precise with numbers and details.

Lois and George liked to travel to Florida, and liked to spend time with friends, but had a special love for “Capey Cod”. They enjoyed their good friends Connie and Otto there, and loved to play pool and cards with them.

Lois was a wonderful cook, she was a Swede and mastered many Swedish dishes, the most favorite among the family were Swedish pancakes.

Lois and George never had children of their own, but were very loving and involved with their nieces and nephews. Lois would dress up at the holidays as Mrs. Claus, an Easter bunny, and even a turkey. The family loved it. She will be surely missed.

The family will hold visiting hours at Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike, Canton, CT 06019 on Sunday March 8th, 2020 from 4-6pm.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Lois will be held on Monday March 9th, 2020 at 11am at Valley Baptist Church, 590 West Avon Road, Avon, CT 06001. A luncheon reception at the church will follow the service. A private burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lois’s name can be made to: Farmington Valley Visiting Nurse Association, 8 Old Mill Lane, Simsbury, CT 06070 or Shriners Hospital for Children - Springfield, 516 Carew Street
