Gary William Burdick, 66, of West Simsbury, CT passed away peacefully at home on April 5, 2020 surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Gary fought with dignity and grace, always thinking of those around him. He was born and raised in Torrington, CT and was a 1975 graduate of the University of Connecticut. Gary was a well-respected member of the banking community in Connecticut and enjoyed a 44 year career in commercial banking, retiring from Simsbury Bank and Trust in October 2019. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, Green Bay Packers, and UConn Huskies.

Gary is survived by his wife of 38 years, Lori (Yanok) Burdick; son Brendan of Boston, MA; daughter Stacey of Salem, MA; brother Dennis of New Orleans, LA; sister Sharon and her husband Dennis Jenkins of Torrington, CT; a large extended family, and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Helen (Hubner) Burdick of Torrington, CT.

A private burial was held on Saturday, April 11, 2020. Gary’s family will host a celebration of life in his honor later this year when it is safe to do so.
