Obituary for Rodger John Sandsmark

Rodger John Sandsmark, 77, of Simsbury, beloved husband of Louisa (Marshall) Sandsmark, died Monday, November 23, 2020, at his home. He was born January 11, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Frank and Anna (Andersen) Sandsmark and had lived in Granville, MA for fifteen years prior to moving back to Simsbury four years ago. He was a graduate of Brooklyn College Class of 1963, having received his Bachelors Degree in History. Mr. Sandsmark was a Systems Analyst for the State of Connecticut for many years prior to his retirement. Rodger enjoyed swimming and traveling, and was a long time Seventh Day Sabbath keeping member of the Church of God. 


In addition to his beloved wife of 32 years, he is survived by his children, Jonathan Sandsmark of Chicopee, MA, Elizabeth McGinn and her husband Brian of Brooklyn, NY and Katryn Carlin and her husband John of Simsbury; his brother, Clifford Sandsmark and his wife Hannah of Bentonville, AR and his grandchildren, Jessamyn and Dexter Carlin of Simsbury and Anna Lou McGinn of Brooklyn, NY.
