Kathleen Philomena (Condron) Rooney, 87, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2020 at McLean Home in Simsbury, CT. Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, Kathleen emigrated to America in 1957 and became a naturalized citizen. She married Thomas Rooney in 1958, whom she met in Ireland. They enjoyed a long, happy marriage until his death in April. Kathleen was a homemaker, lovingly raising her three children in Roselle, NJ. She was a proud and doting grandmother and great grandmother. For many years, Kathleen helped run the annual St. Patrick’s Day Dance at Roselle Catholic HS. Skilled at Irish dancing, she took joy participating in Irish dances with friends and her favorite partner, Tom. True to her heritage, Kathleen was gifted with the turn of a phrase, and they will always remain with us. We will also fondly remember her inability to get out a funny story, tears of laughter running down her cheeks.

Kathleen is predeceased by her husband, Thomas, and sisters Nancy, Greta, and Bernadette. She is survived by her children Laura of Pittsburgh, PA, Maureen of Moorestown, NJ, Brendan and his wife Kathleen of West Simsbury, CT, grandchildren Meaghan and her husband Tony, Andrew, Maura, Bailey, Riley, Ava, and Julia, great-grandchildren Trip and Grace, and sisters Carmel, Theresa, and Mai, her twin.
