Obituary for Robert Hackbarth

Robert H. Hackbarth, 75, of Canton, beloved husband of Karen (Chamberlain) Hackbarth, died Monday, January 11, 2021 at Bristol Hospital. He was born March 5, 1945 in Hartford, son of the late Everett H. and Gertrude (Schapp) Hackbarth and had been a life long resident of Canton. Bob was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Bob was a Machinist for BHS for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Avon and the Order of the Hermann Sons Schiller Lodge #25. Bob enjoyed woodworking, trips to Mohegan Sun and vacations with the Hermann Sons.


In addition to his beloved wife of 54 years, he is survived by his daughter, Candace Paradis and her husband Mark of Canton; his grandchildren, Ashley and Zachary
Paradis; great granddaughter, Jazmine Anthony; his sister, Judy Blubaugh and husband Robert of Florida; his brother, Charles Hackbarth and wife Liz of Florida; brother-in-law, Steve Chamberlain andwife Elaine of Canton and adopted grandsons, Dylan Michaud and Austin Spring.


Robert’s family will receive friends at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton on Thursday, January 14th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 1:30 PM at Calvary Cemetery on Collins Road in Collinsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Canton Memorial Ambulance, P.O. Box 281, Collinsville, CT 06022.
