Obituary for Florence Bertha Albrycht

Florence Bertha (Pastular) Albrycht, 75, of Avon, beloved wife of Ronald John Albrycht, died Sunday, January 24, 2021 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. She was born October 16, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Anthony and Philomena (Lonczak) Pastular and had attended St. Brendan’s Catholic School in Brooklyn. Flo had very fond memories of her youth, from roller-skating down her street, the magnolia tree in their yard, knishes from the nearby Jewish deli and many trips to Coney Island. Her father wanted to move out of the city to the country, so he bought a piece of land in Torrington. Florence and her father would drive up to CT on the weekends as he was building their new house. She was incredibly happy living in CT, where she met her husband and made a nice life together in Canton. Mrs. Albrycht began her career in 1963 at NY Telephone Company in service records. After her family moved to CT and she began working in banking. She was a teller for Simsbury Bank, United Bank and had retired from Bank of America. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Collinsville. Flo enjoyed gardening and could always been seen tending her beloved flowers. She also loved to spend time by the water, whether it be the ocean or a lake, especially her vacations to Cape Cod. Most importantly, Flo loved any activity that was with family which brought her so much joy.

In addition to her loving husband of 51 years, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa Hall and her husband Joshua of West Simsbury; her grandchildren, Mollie and Ben Hall; her sister, Elaine Makowski of New Jersey; her brother-in-law, Gary Albrych of Burlingtonand several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Brogis.
