Obituary for Robert Victor Bellacosa

Robert Victor Bellacosa, 79, of Avon, beloved husband of Theresa (Geraci) Bellacosa, died Friday, January 29, 2021 at MeadowBrook of Granby after a long, courageous struggle with a difficult cancer. He was born September 15, 1941 in Hoboken, NJ, son of the late Victor Anthony and Frances (Quinn) Bellacosa and had lived in Simsbury for many years prior to moving to Avon. He was a graduate of St. Peter’s University, Jersey City, NJ, Class of 1963, having received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance. Bob was a Corporate Vice President for Textron Financial for many years prior to his retirement. Bob was a quiet, righteous man of God having been a faithful member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Simsbury. He loved baseball playing from Little League right through Lite Semi Pro and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, the New York Giants and Notre Dame. Above all else, Bob was a family man providing for those he loved without cost to himself.

In addition to his loving wife of 51 years, he is survived by his daughter, Christa Marie Bellacosa of Avon, (his grand dog “Lucy”), his siblings, Mary, Anne, Joan, John and many dear nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Bob was predeceased by his parents and sister, Fran.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 6th at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 265 Stratton Brook Road in West Simsbury. Burial will follow in Simsbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sisters of Charity of New York, 6301 Riverdale Ave., Bronx, NY 10471-1093 or to Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Joseph’s Residence, 1365 Enfield Street, Enfield, CT 06082-4925.
