Obituary for Agatha Hall

Agatha (Ruane) Hall, 86, of Plainville, sister of Annie Ruane, died peacefully surrounded by family on February 22, 2021 at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT. She was born May 14, 1934 in Knockafall, Straide, County Mayo, Ireland, daughter of the late Hugh and Ellen (O’Donell) Ruane and lived in England prior to moving to Plainville more than 40 years ago. Agatha was a registered nurse in England and Administrative Assistant of Walter McIlveen Associates, Inc., Avon, CT. She mastered the computer in her career and in her retirement years, accessing social media and communicating with family by email. She was a devout Catholic in the parish of Our Lady of Mercy in Plainville, CT. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, UCONN Women’s basketball and a good game of cards. She delighted in family and friends and jumped to put on a cup of tea whenever a visitor arrived.

She is survived by her sister, Annie Ruane of Plainville, CT. She was predeceased by her siblings Mary McHale, Evelyn Ruane, Hugh Ruane, Sarah Pratchett, Margaret McIlveen, and James Ruane. She will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews in the United States and England and many beloved friends.

We are thankful for her parish family, Father Ray and Leona who brought communion to the house so many times. Please remember Agatha in your prayers and consider saying a rosary in her honor.

There will be no calling hours. Family will have a private graveside service at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Plainville, CT.
