Beverly Ann Longo passed in peace on Thursday, March 18, 2021. She was born in Providence, Rhode Island and married her high school sweetheart, Bob, who preceded her in death in 2001. Beverly loved being a wife and homemaker, and excelled at sewing, baking, and raising her family. Her favorite flower was lily of the valley. She was Mom and Grandma to us, and Bev if you were friends - and if you ever so much as spoke with her, you were friends. Bev was a social butterfly who loved to travel and explore, even just locally, and she knew more about every corner of New England than any of us. She was a passionate researcher, and almost any gift she ever gave came with a neatly folded up printout with information about its value, who made it, and where it came from. She was a collector - of beautiful objects, hat pins, jewelry, stories, and the hearts of folks she met.

Bev’s greatest joy was her family and grandchildren and friends, and she showered them all with generosity and love. She genuinely saw each of us, and our humanity. This is why if you’ve ever spoken, you were friends. It’s because she saw you, your humanity, and reached out towards it. She was always reaching out towards. For hugs, for new connections, for every little spark of beauty that could be found.

Beverly is survived by her devoted partner, Ken, her loving daughters and son-in law, Diane, Joanne, Rob, and Marianne, and her cherished grandchildren, Daylynn, Kirsten, Griffin, Sam, JJ, and Sophie. We will love and miss you always, and take comfort in knowing that you are with Dad. Beverly’s family will gather for a private service and ceremony to celebrate her life. If you would like to honor Bev we ask that you spend time with your loved ones, brighten someone’s day, and find joy in the little things.

Private burial will be in Simsbury Cemetery. The Vincent Funeral Home of Simsbury is caring for the arrangements. Please visit Beverly's "Book of Memories" at for online tributes.

Beverly will always hold a special place in my heart, as her kindness, humor, and love of fun and people were the consistent themes of her character and personality. Aside from Kokondo events, Bev and Master Longo were wonderful companions for memorable excursions, shows, dinners and personal conversations. In later years, I felt honored to build a relationship uniquely with Bev, which included a lot of laughter, stories, and discussions of family. In particular, an evening with Bev and Master Longo's brother John and his wife in Orlando cemented for me a very personal relationship with Beverly and brought me closer to my teacher and friend whose absence was exceptionally hard for us both. May Beverly's family and friends always remember her kindness and be comforted by numerous happy memories at this sad time.

Such a beautifully written tribute and captured my Aunty Beverly as I knew her and loved her. I will miss her. To my cousins and Bev’s grandchildren, I wish you peace in the memories of her that you hold close.
Much love, Barb Longo

I knew Master Longo from the Kokondo and the Combustion Engineering, ABB days. I got to know Bev after the passing of Master Longo. We used to have a group of us including Shihan and Sue (Mrs. Arel) and Bev that used to get together on Wednesday mornings for breakfast beginning in 2007. After I moved to Cohasset in 2012 I kept in touch with Bev through our Xmas correspondence. She was a great lady and I know she will be truly missed by those who loved her. Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your mom. These condolences are also extended to you Ken as I am glad we got introduced by her. May the love of her memory becomes your treasure. Mrs. Longo or as I finally called her Bev was truly extraordinary. Her kindness, class, and enthusiasm were delightful. She was gracious throughout so many long martial arts events. She always dressed so well, her beauty always clear. Her smile that warmed the world will live on her family and friends forever.

Thank you Greg.
