Obituary for Paul Larsen

Paul Dwayne “Poppie” Larsen, 93, of Canton, beloved husband of Mary Lou (Fregeau) Larsen, died peacefully after a short time at CherryBrook Health Care Center on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at CherryBrook. He was born July 28, 1927 in Graceville, MN, son of the late Milton Floyd and Caline (Rude) Larsen and had lived in Bristol prior to moving to Canton three years ago. Paul proudly served in the United States Air Force. He was a graduate of Boston University having received his Masters Degree. Paul worked for Squibb Pharmaceuticals where he retired early and then worked for General Motors until his final retirement. Paul enjoyed many years traveling with his wife, classical music and was an avid reader consuming as many books as he possibly could. He was an intelligent, considerate and compassionate man who loved a good conversation or caring for one of his beloved pets or an animal in need. He held little value for material things and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

In addition to his loving wife of 46 years, Paul leaves his daughters, Holly Denis and husband Paul of Burlington, Susan Belanger and husband Brian of Glastonbury; his grandchildren Jan-Michael Denis of Burlington and Nicole Clark, both of Bristol and his great grandchildren, Jamie, Shaelyn and Evelyn. He was predeceased by a daughter, Lee Larsen and his step children, Jan and Karen Church.
