Tillie Krinitsky Dziobek, 92, of Avon, wife of the late Edmund John Dziobek, died Friday, April 2, 2021 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. She was born June 11, 1928 in Terryville, daughter of the late Harry and Rose (Duke) Krinitsky and had lived in Terryville for 74 years prior to the death of her husband, at which time she moved to Hunt Glen in Granby for 15 years and had spent the last 3 years at River Ridge of Avon. She was a member of St. Casmir's Parish in Terryville having served in the Women’s Guild. Tillie was also president of the River Ridge Resident Committee.
Tillie’s charm and outgoing nature allowed her to make friends wherever she went; whether it was Terryville, Hunt Glen, River Ridge or traveling with Ed to his annual Army reunions. Everyone knew and loved Tillie. She enjoyed bowling, crafts, sunbathing on the beach to get a good sunburn and anything that involved spending time with family and friends. She was a great cook and was known for her world famous (or at least family famous) Thanksgiving stuffing and Christmas cookies.
She is survived by her two daughters, Donna Parker and husband Andy of Simsbury and Susan Glucksman and husband Michael of Granby; her grandchildren, Emily Heck and husband Joseph of Boston, MA, Katherine Parker of New York City, Rebecca Glucksman of Dallas, TX and Daniel Glucksman of New York City. She was predeceased by her eight siblings.

We want to thank all of her caregivers at Hunt Glen and River Ridge for their kindness and assistance over these last few years.

Her family will receive friends during a walkthrough visitation from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM on Wednesday, April 7th, at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church in Simsbury. Burial will be at 2:00 PM in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Terryville. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Lyceum, 181 Main Street, Terryville, CT 06786. I have known and loved (Aunt) Tillie ever since I married her nephew Rich Naughton in 1982. She was the sweetest person who always had a smile and never a harsh word about anyone or anything. Rich loved her dearly and always referred to her as his “other mother”. Even though he was already ill at the time, Rich was adamant that we attend her surprise 80th birthday party so he could see his favorite aunt again. We always loved to visit whenever we could, and Rich never forgot the care packages she sent him while he was in Vietnam. I will miss my phone calls to her to “catch up” on her family, and hear about all her activities. She was such a loving happy person, and her daughters were so lucky to have such a wonderful role model.

While we met only once at the retirement center, Miss Tillie was truly a doll. It was quite a treat to see her enjoy happy hour and game time with the other residents. I am thankful for the opportunity to have met her and witness the beautiful love and devotion shared between her and her daughter Sue. Cheers on a life well lived!

Dear Donna and Susan,
Ellen and I send our deep sympathy to each of you and your families.
I remember my years growing up in Terryville and the Kornacki branch going to the Dziobek house across from St. Casimir's after church for family visits with ciocia, wojek and Edmund and Tillie. Ciocia ALWAYS had a LARGE bag of State Line Potato Chips and LARGE Hershey Chocolate Bar each for my brother Steve and I. Many "Terryville Family" holiday celebrations were also enjoyed. My first shot of Wisniowska (a Polish cherry vodka, about 190 proof, yes 190) personally distilled by wojek was a treat I'll never forget.

Chapters close and we treasure the fond memories.

Dear Donna & Susan,
We knew your Mom from River Ridge. She was such a delightful lady and always so friendly. We hugged every time we could!
We are so sorry for your loss and she will be missed by many who knew her at RR. My mother in law, Peggy Sorgio and I send our thoughts and prayers to you. May God give you His grace and mercy in the days ahead.

Donna and Sue--I am so sorry to hear about your mom's death. I have so many fond memories of her from church, get-togethers, and from Jayne-Eugene's. I know how much my mom valued her friendship, especially in her last years when they could only stay in touch by phone. Know that she, and all you are in my prayers. John Kohanski
