Obituary for Lisa Romanelli

Lisa Marie (Palmer) Romanelli, 57, of West Simsbury, beloved wife of Roger Romanelli, died Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington, CT. She was born March 10, 1964 in Hartford, loving daughter of Ralph and June (Myketyn) Palmer of Woodstock, and had lived in Simsbury for her entire life, in the home her great grandfather built. Lisa was a graduate of Tunxis Community College having received her Associates Degree in General Studies. She then pursued her hairdressing license, and practiced as such for many years. Mrs. Romanelli was an Assistant Preschool Teacher in the CREC Program at the Squadron Line School, where her love of teaching young children new skills was shown. She loved nothing more than coming home and telling her family stories of her days with the kids. She was a member of Saint Catherine of Siena Church in West Simsbury, as well as the American Legion Auxiliary. Lisa was extremely involved in her children’s lives, as both a Tootin Hills Room Parent and Volunteer Librarian for 10 years, from 2003-2013. Lisa loved spending time at Old Orchard Beach in Maine, enjoying Lisa’s Pizza and Pier Fries and body surfing in the ocean, as well as spending her days floating on tubes at Quasset Lake.

In addition to her loving husband of 30 years and her parents, she is survived by her daughter, Danielle Romanelli (23) of Simsbury; her son, Anthony Romanelli (20) of Simsbury; her in-laws, Roger Romanelli, Sr. and Carol Romanelli of Windsor. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, George and Bertha Myketyn.
