Obituary for John F. Dlubac

John Francis “Doober” Dlubac, 79, of Granby, beloved husband of Karen (George) Dlubac, died Monday, August 9, 2021, at St. Francis Hospital. He was born February 10, 1942, in Hartford, son of the late Paul James Dlubac, Jr. and Annie Patricia (Burns) Dlubac and had lived in Simsbury prior to moving to Granby in 1973 with Karen. Johnny was a Crew Leader for the Town of Simsbury, Department of Public Works, for 20+ years prior to his retirement and was a past member of Lost Acres Fire Department with 6 years of dedicated service.  He was a member of the Elks Lodge #1893 in Manchester and was an avid fan of NASCAR, Boston Red Sox and UCONN Mens and Womens Basketball.  Johnny will be missed for his big smile and twinkle in his eyes, his one liners, “are you mad at me?”, and always giving a thumbs up to everyone he met.

In addition to his loving wife of 49 years, he is survived by his daughter, Kelly Ann Holland and husband Jason of Framingham, MA; his adored grandchildren, Jacob and Emma Holland; his two sister-in-laws, Donna Korth and her husband Jerry, and Yong Cha Dlubac; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved cat Nala. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Michael Dlubac and Paul Dlubac, III.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 16th from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. At the family’s request, masks will be required.
