Obituary for Yvonne Marie Eichstedt

Yvonne Marie Eichstedt, 42, passed away unexpectedly in her home in Winsted, CT on May 13, 2022.

Yvonne was born in the town of Great Barrington in Berkshire County, Massachusetts on June 18, 1979.  She was the second of four children by Leon “Butch” Eichstedt, Jr., and Mary Ella Wilcox.

Yvonne was a caring Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Grandchild, Niece, Cousin, and Friend.

Yvonne liked to paint, draw, and write poetry.  She enjoyed taking walks, sitting by a fire, and “havin’ a beer”.  Some of her favorite things were monkeys, Coca-Cola, and the color purple.   She enjoyed more than anything spending time with her family.  She loved her family, and her family LOVES her.

Yvonne had a tender heart and a pure soul.  She was admired and known for her gorgeous head of naturally curly hair.  She had blue eyes, and soft pretty freckles. She always said “I love you” before hanging up the phone.  Her presence will be deeply missed.  We await the day that we can see her and hold her again, but for now we will hold her in our hearts.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Patricia Ball whom she loved dearly and her husband Harry J. Ball who she knew as Grandpa, and her maternal grandfather Thomas who passed away before she was born.

Yvonne is survived by her parents Leon “Butch” Eichstedt, Jr., and Mary Ella Wilcox, brothers Leon Eichstedt, III, and Stephen Eichstedt, sister, Jenée Hepp, niece Ella, nephews Leon, Justin, Michael, Levi, and Liam, step-father Robert “Bob” Wilcox, and paternal grandparents Leon Eichstedt, Sr., and Marilyn Phillips along with their spouses Mildred Eichstedt and Mike Phillips.

To honor Yvonne’s memory, her family and friends will gather at the SVFD Firefighters Clubhouse, 30 Town Forest Road, West Simsbury, CT, on Sunday, June 05, 2022, at 3:00 p.m.  Those who are moved to do so may attend.  We ask all who attend to be mindful of everyone’s social distancing comfort levels and mask wearing is encouraged.
