Obituary for Ernest B. Wollmann

Ernest Benjamin Wollmann, 87, of Burlington, beloved husband of Barbara (Spielman) Wollmann, died peacefully Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Cherry Brook Health Care Center in Canton. He was born June 14, 1935 in Canton, son of the late Ernest M. and Hattie S. (King) Wollmann and had lived in Burlington most of his life. Ernie was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a Highway Construction Worker for White Oak and Savin Construction Company. Ernie was a member of the Burlington Volunteer Fire Department, the Burlington Men’s Club, the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 478 and was the Vice President of the Burlington Cemetery Association. Construction and road work were his whole life, even in his retirement.

In addition to his loving wife of 37 years, he is survived by Barbara’s daughters, Christina Lindquist and husband Ken of New Hartford and their children Abigail and William; Laurie Arel and husband Steve of Burlington and their children John, Julia and Paul. He was predeceased by his brother, Fredrick Wollmann and nephew, Kevin Wollmann.

Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Burlington Cemetery Association, PO BOX 1225, Burlington, CT 06013. The Vincent Funeral Home of Canton is caring for the arrangements.
