Obituary for Joseph Lynch

Joseph L. Lynch, born May 18, 1944, passed this life on September 20, 2022. He is survived by his beloved children Stefanie (Lynch) Wood, Elizabeth (Lynch) McCarthy, and Nathaniel Lynch; as well as sons-in law Alan Wood, Jr. and Kevin McCarthy, and daughter-in-law Danielle (Boulay) Lynch; grandchildren Aislinn and Seamus Oates, and Nathaniel and Josephine Lynch; step-grandchildren Joshua (and wife Michelle), Andrew, Nicholas , and Erin (and partner Bruce Lopes) Wood; and step-great-grandchildren Balin, Chloe, Owen, and Madison Wood. Joseph is also survived by his siblings Maureen Boyle, Dorothea Lynch-Frezza, Gerard Lynch (and wife Deborah), Patricia Lynch, Margaret Artz (and husband Michael), and Eileen LoVerde, as well as their respective children and grandchildren.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Joseph was a graduate of Regis High School, New York, NY. He received his Bachelors of Arts from Fordham University and his Masters of Arts from New York University.

After spending some time in the seminary, he decided to return to secular life, shortly after which he met his wife, Patricia. Joseph had a long and successful career in both international and domestic commercial banking, and continued to work with real estate and finance after his retirement.

Joseph was an active member in Mensa, was a life-long member or the Knights of Columbus, and enjoying participating in many other organizations and intellectual groups.

His family will receive guests at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Friday, September 30th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1st at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 265 Stratton Brook Road, West Simsbury. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield.
