Obituary for Sharon Santopietro

Sharon Ann (Bouley) (Ahlman) Santopietro, 79, of Canton, died Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael Santopietro, the true love of her life. She was born January 7, 1943 in Torrington, daughter of the late Omer and Beatrice (Jolicoeur) Bouley and had grown up and resided in Torrington prior to moving to Canton 15 years ago.
Mrs. Santopietro was a Bank Teller for several local banks, including Union Savings Bank, just prior to her retirement. She was a strong tenant of her Catholic faith. Sharon loved spending time outdoors, camping, bird watching and going to the beach with her family. She had a love for cooking, and shared that with her children, family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Shawn Chandler, David Ahlman and wife Christina and Stacey Ahlman, all of Torrington, Robert (Kelley) Santopietro, Michele Coley and Marcie Hamel, all of Wolcott; her grandchildren, Taylor Rosado, Dustyn (Gabriella) Marfyak, Brandon (Jordan) Marfyak, Matthew Ahlman, Ryan Ahlman, Caroline Ahlman, Michael Ahlman, Ashley (Eric) Larson, John Hamel, Patrick (Jenna) Santopietro, Victoria Santopietro, David Stasonis, Amanda Stasonis, Doug Coley, John Hamel, Tommy Mashia and Jamie Mashia as well as three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Jacqueline Coppa.
Our Mom was a spitfire, fun to be around, strong and independent, and a loyal friend. She raised her kids to be respectful, loving and compassionate people, all on her own. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. The merging of the Ahlman’s and Santopietro’s only doubled the amount of love she had. We all will love and miss her for all our days.

Her family would like to thank her doctors, home caregivers, Doreen and Phi, as well as the services of Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Litchfield County for their kindness and support. A special thank you to Karen Tarutis for her compassion and always going above and beyond. You have become family.

Visitation will be held at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton on Saturday, October 29th from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Church in Collinsville at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Collinsville. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Litchfield County, 32 Union Street, Winsted, Connecticut 06098.
