Obituary for Betty Bernier
Betty (Miller) Bernier, 85, of Canton, wife of the late Alfred David Bernier, Jr., died Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Cherry Brook Health Care Center in Canton. She was born August 6, 1937 in Hartford, daughter of the late Benjamin Norton Miller and Ella (Bruey) Miller and lived in Canton for over 60 years. Mrs. Bernier was a Secretary for Attorney Richard Sanger for many years prior to her retirement. Betty enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching UConn women’s basketball and auto races , visits with her family and three hours long lunches with her special friends Ann, Cathy and Ruth.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda Helferty of West Chester, PA, Karen Kim and her husband Hyunni of Ellington, CT and Sherril Roberts and husband Ben of Gainsville, GA; her son, James Bernier and his wife Barbara of Newtown, CT; her special niece Barbara Mele; her grandchildren, Janelle Kao, Daniel Helferty, Michael Helferty, Abigail Kim, Jason Kim, Nicole Wierzbinski, Rebecca Young, Alicia Carrafiello, and Michael Carrafiello and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Miller Mele.

Her family will receive friends at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton on Monday, November 28th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 29th at the funeral home. Burial will follow in South Norfolk Cemetery.
