Obituary for Vedavalli Srinivasagopalan

Smt Vedavalli Srinivasagopalan, 88, our beloved mother, and wife of the late Shri Vellore Shroff Srinivasagopalan, died Thursday, December 22, 2022, at the UConn John Dempsey Hospital. She was born in Chennai, India on July 10, 1934 to Shri P. Narayanan and Smt. N. Rukmani. She is survived by two daughters, Krishnaveni and Lakshmi, one son-in-law, Kannan, two sons, Gopal and Satya, two daughters-in-law, Anantha and Anuradha, two granddaughters, Arthi and Adithi, three grandsons, Anand, Prashanth, and Ajeeth, and four great-grandsons, Prateek, Pranav, Prahlad and Madhusudhan.

After moving from India, our mother lived mostly in the United States since 2000. She spoke more than one language and loved to travel and see places in India as well as globally. She was an exceptionally creative individual, most notably with the culinary and embroidery skills. She was also a very organized and disciplined individual, always ensuring that everything she touched was in tip-top shape. She was universally loved by one and all that became acquainted with her. She was a very devout and caring person, and was generous to a fault – not only did she give of her time and effort for others, but donated money regularly and liberally to various causes from senior care to educational institutions.
