Obituary for Elaine Marie Coco

Elaine Marie (Saulnier) Coco, 81, of Simsbury, beloved wife of Robert Richard Coco, died peacefully, Thursday, January 5, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born August 22, 1941, in Hempstead, Long Island, NY, daughter of the late George Edward and Marie (Boudreau) Saulnier and had lived in Simsbury for over 50 years. She was a graduate of Mount Saint Vincent University in Nova Scotia
where she earned her Associate's Degree. While raising her family, Elaine worked as a teachers aide at Latimer Lane Elementary School. She later became an administrative assistant, and finished her career at Davenport Associates, working along aside her husband. She was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Church. She loved volunteering and helping out wherever needed. Elaine along with her husband enjoyed many years of living the lake life at Highland Lake, Winsted, CT. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family and friends. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.

In addition to her loving husband of 57 years, she is survived by her children, Denise Coco Torla and husband Christopher of West Hartford, CT; Michael J. Coco and partner Patrice Makoski of Farmington, CT and Susan A. Coco of Southington, CT; her sister, Ann Fauci and husband Larry of Cornelius, NC; her brother, Ronald Saulnier of Bayville, NY; her grandchildren, Joseph Hayes, Zachary Coco, Jacob Hayes, Meghan Torla, Lauren Torla, and Kathryn Torla and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Diane and David Shellard.

Calling hours will be held at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Wednesday, January 11th from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church in Simsbury. The burial will be in Simsbury Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Disease Research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871.
