Obituary for Bernadette Girard
Bernadette Girard of Simsbury, CT passed away peacefully on December 23, 2022. She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Dominique (Mickey) Girard. Born in 1922 in Hardwick Vermont, she lived a long life of 100 years filled with family, friends, and joy. She worked at Holly Hill Convalescent Home for many years. Bernadette also enjoyed camping with the Good Sam Club, gardening, and watching the birds in her yard. But most of all, family was of special importance to her.
She is survived by her 5 children: Lorette Archer of Simsbury, Daniel (Elaine) Girard of Estero FL/West Granby CT, Susan Menard of Simsbury, Valerie (Kevin) North of Sarasota FL/Mystic CT and Donna (Randy) Bemont of Nebo N.C. In addition, Bernadette leaves 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 10 5th generation great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 1 grandchild, 2 great-grandchildren, and 2 sons-in-law.
Private services were held on Thursday, January 12th for the immediate family. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
