Obituary for Beverly J. LaPierre

Beverly J. LaPierre, 90, of Goose Green Rd. in Barkhamsted, died Wednesday (Feb 15, 2023) at Cherry Brook Healthcare Center in Canton. She was born July 11, 1932 in Floral Park, NY, daughter of the late Louis Henry and June (Schuler) LaPierre and had lived in Barkhamsted for many years. She was employed by Minute Maid NYC, Jessop Steel in Bloomfield, and most recently Marshalls in Avon prior to her retirement.

Beverly was predeceased by her brother Calvin H. LaPierre and his wife Margaret S. (Farris). She is survived by two nieces, Margaret Fischer and Elizabeth Permedi and her husband Eddie Permedi; two cousins, David Gower and Warren Gower and many great nieces and nephews, Will Sofrin, Dony Permedi, Ricky Permedi, Katie Katin, Natasha Elzawawy and Koushik Fischer as many more family members, Alicia, Samantha, Song e, Ollie, Atto, Mallorie, Nora, Scott, Reid, Morsy, Egypt, Mariam, Bethany, Aaron, Adam, Christine and Matt and her friends Michael, John and Wanda.
She was a loving caregiver and mother figure, loyal and faithful to all family members, friends, pets. She was a bridge to her blind mother and deaf brother. She was an avid reader and collector of books. She watched every Kentucky Derby with her nephew Koushik. She loved music, theater, Opera, poetry, and especially Celtic Thunder. She loved to garden, cultivate flowers, roses, vegetables, and trees. She was a supporter and advocate for wildlife and charitable children’s organizations.

Special appreciation goes out to all her caregivers and support staff during the last years of her life including her home healthcare associates, Foothills VNA, Cherry Brook Healthcare Center staff, and McLean Hospice. A special thanks to Linda.
