Liliana (Hoyos) Kendall, 63, of Torrington, beloved wife of Stephen E. Kendall, died Friday, March 24, 2023 in Torrington. She was born October 7, 1959 in Cali, Colombia, daughter of the late Alvaro Hoyos and Ines Alvarez. She had lived in Fairbanks, AK prior to moving to Connecticut 35 years ago. Liliana was a Paraprofessional in the Bilingual Department at the Torrington Middle School for many years and taught English as a Second Language classes to adults at night. Liliana enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, spending time in the sun, especially at the beach and most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her loving husband of 34 years, she leaves her daughter, Diana Arias of Canton; her sons, Leonard Kendall of Cincinnati, OH and Jeffrey Kendall of Torrington; her siblings, Carlos Hoyos and wife Nelly, Clara Castano and husband Francis and Luz Matlin and husband Brian; her grandchildren, Alexia, Ava and Rocco Moore and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Harold Hoyos.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 4th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 5th at St. Mary’s Church, 942 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. Burial will follow in Simsbury Cemetery.
