E. James “Jim” Livingston, Jr., 87, of Simsbury, CT, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Thelma (Cross); his son Jeff and his wife Kristin Hall; his grandchildren Annika and Sonja; his sister-in-law Helen Cross; his nieces and nephews Susan, Rick, Robert, Stephen, Mary Lou, David, Paloma, Julieanne, Leslie, Douglas, and Jennifer; and his caregiver Laurie. Jim was predeceased by his son Tom, his brother-in-law Bob Cross, his sister Anne, her husband Howard Pearson, and their son Mark.

Jim was born on May 31, 1935, and grew up in Northfield, MA, son of Edgar and Kathryn. He was a direct descendent of Revolutionary War General John Stark. Jim graduated from Mount Herman School and UMass, Amherst. He then served in the US Army, stationed in Germany. Jim married Thelma in 1963 and, in 1968, moved to Simsbury, CT, where they raised their family. He owned the RC White property management company and worked there for 40 years. Jim was a quiet person with a wry sense of humor. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and gardening. Jim also enjoyed watching sports, playing card games, and whistling while playing the guitar.
