Walter Edwin Anderson, 80, of Simsbury, beloved husband of Diane (Stupcenski) Anderson, died Monday, August 7, 2023 at Hartford Hospital. He was born March 4, 1943 in Hartford, son of the late Arthur Edwin and Lucienne (Bertrand) Anderson and had lived in Simsbury for 55 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the U. S. Marine Corps. Mr. Anderson was an Inspector at Ensign Bickford and a Custodian for the Simsbury School System for many years prior to his retirement. Walter was a member of the American Legion and was an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. He loved Maine summer vacations at Old Orchard Beach and most of all enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his loving wife of 57 years, he is survived by his children, Debra Sireci of Vernon, Walter Anderson, Jr. and wife Bonnie of Simsbury and Donna Anderson of Simsbury; his grandchildren, Carolyn Sireci and husband Conor Gay of Tolland, Justin Anderson of Simsbury, Nicholas Anderson of Simsbury, Michael Sireci of Vernon and Chistopher Anderson of Simsbury; his brother-in-law, Richard Royer; his sisters-in-law Carol Parsell and Sheila Stupcenski and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Janet Richardson.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 15th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. Burial with military honors will follow at 12:30 PM at the Simsbury Cemetery, 16 Plank Hill Road in Simsbury.
