Obituary for Ann Forcucci

Anna “Aunt Ann” Forcucci, 107, of Simsbury, daughter of Frank and Delia Bellizzi, died a peaceful death on Tuesday, November 3, 2015. She was born in Hartford on September 4, 1908 and after her birth traveled with her father to return to their homeland in Italy. The outbreak of World War I kept Ann and her family there until after the close of World War I, when she returned to America. Later in life she married her husband Joseph and lived in West Hartford, and ultimately settled in Lime Rock. Ann, was a wife, mother and an entrepreneur who successfully managed three Inns on their Lime Rock property. In Lime Rock, Ann and her husband generously hosted The Family Fourth of July picnics for many years. She provided fond memories to her siblings, nephews, nieces and relatives. These are ever-lasting memories treasured by all her family. In the early 1970’s Ann left Lime Rock and took up residence in Simsbury where she and her husband and son Kenny resided. Ann was a matriarch of the families. She was known for her keen memory and storytelling of places and events which dated back decades. She was a regular communicant at her parish church, St Mary’s of Simsbury, where she developed ongoing friendships with Father Bock, Father Matera and Father Garcia. Ann cherished, supported and faithfully watched the daily televised mass provided by The Office of Radio and Television. She loved to garden and enjoyed making her awesome pizza to share with all. Ann was one of seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her siblings, Grace Canarie, Jane Fischetti, Dan Bellizzi and Frank Bellizzi, and her sister-in-law Lucille Bellizzi. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Forcucci, her brothers, Peter Bellizzi and his wife Alyce Bellizzi and Dr. Joseph Bellizzi; her brother-in-law, William Fischetti and James Canarie. Ann was an ever-caring mother to her daughter Joanne and her late son Kenny Forcucci. She was always proud of her granddaughter and grandsons, and her great grandchildren. She leaves many nieces and nephews who loved “Aunt Ann” so very much. Her close and dear neighbors, Steve and Susan Mulak and Bill Murphy, were just the perfect neighbors who we and Ann treasured. The family would like to thank Dr. Spiro from UCONN Health Center for his special care. Calling hours will be Friday November 6th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike (Rt 44) in Canton. Funeral will be Saturday, November 7th, 8:45 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church in Simsbury. Burial will follow in the Simsbury Cemetery. Donations may be made to The Office of Radio and Television.
