Arlyne Mae (Richardson) Scheidel, 90, of Avon, wife of the late Richard Scheidel, died Sunday, November 8, 2015 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington. She was born September 4, 1925 in Canton, daughter of the late Arleigh and Alice (Bristol) Richardson and in Avon for many years. Mrs. Scheidel was a Key Punch Operator at Hartford Special for 12 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the First Church of Canton Center, the American Legion Auxiliary, Phoebe Humphrey Chapter of DAR, the Collinsville Fire Department Auxiliary and the Avon Seniors. Arlyne enjoyed crafts, painting and ceramics and had enjoyed traveling to 49 states. She is survived by her son, William Scheidel and his wife Donna of New Hartford; her daughter, Susan Jurras and her husband Mark Jurras, III of Canton; her beloved companion of over 30 years, Mitchell Bialicki of Avon; her four grandchildren, Heidi Scheidel, Richard Scheidel, Miranda Jurras and Mark Jurras, IV; two great grandchildren, Dyllan Kelley and Cayden James Scheidel; her siblings, Verna Weekley and her husband Bill and Alan Richardson and his wife Lois and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Jean Cherrier. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be celebrated Saturday, November 14th, 11:00 AM at the First Congregational Church of Canton Center, 184 Cherry Brook Road in Canton Center. Burial will be private.
