Obituary for Holly Ann Rudiak

Holly Ann Rudiak
Holly Ann Rudiak 55, of Burlington, CT went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2016 due to a brain tumor diagnosed unexpectedly about one year ago. We celebrate her joyous and fulfilling life - she will be sorely missed and loved always by her family, all whom she totally cherished; her husband John, her son Bryce, a graduate of Lewis Mills High School in Burlington soon completing his degree at Central Connecticut State University, her daughter Erin, a graduate of Miss Porters School and a student at Penn State University. She was predeceased by her parents George and Ellen Marenzana. She will be remembered as a vibrant and kind woman who embraced life to the fullest while caring deeply for those around her. Holly was born in Plainville and went to local schools, graduating from Central Connecticut State University. After graduation she worked for the VNA Health Care as a staff accountant until the birth of her children when she then decided to dedicate herself to be with them during their childhood. Prior to her illness Holly worked part time at the Town of Burlington in the registrars office. She was a member of St Patrick's Church in Collinsville. Holly was a lovely and beautiful person and had a caring heart. She was deeply religious. She was especially dedicated to the well being and development of her children who meant more to her than anything or anybody. She traveled extensively with her family throughout Europe and North America and many other places. She most loved spending time with her family especially enjoying the beach and water at family homes in Cape Cod and Lake George in Wales, MA. She was extremely detailed and meticulous and made amazing crafts, cards and also applied theses talents to scrapbooking, decorating, fine cooking and baking- and shared the results of those talents with many. Throughout her life and continuing during her illness, Holly was positive and upbeat and focused on her family, no matter what the situation was. In doing so she impressed many people and during her illness was often described as one of the most motivated patients ever. Prior to her passing she indicated she wished to reiterate great thanks to family who tirelessly arranged for and accompanied her to the best treatment and care possible and helped keep her positive, strong, hopeful and upbeat throughout no matter what. The family wishes to thank the doctors and caregivers at Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC where Holly received great care throughout her illness, extending her life and the quality of it, and always with great compassion and hope, especially Drs. Kaley and Gutin, and also wish to thank the excellent caregivers at Foothills VNA that provided home care and later hospice care with true caring and support, especially Lindsay Castaldi. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Brain Tumor Center, or the Foothills VNA Hospice of Connecticut. We celebrate Holly's joyous and fulfilling life full of dedication to her family and great experiences with them. She very much wanted to continue and live longer on earth but is now in heaven as God apparently had other plans for her, for reasons unknown to us, but we accept this with faith. We look back with fondness and will keep her in our hearts forever, until we see her again - and will move forward from here with inspiration. All services will be private. The Vincent Funeral Home of Canton is caring for the arrangements.
