Christopher Jon "Buddy" Gardner
Christopher Jon “Buddy” Gardner, 22, of West Simsbury, CT passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. He was born August 24, 1993 in Hartford, the beloved son of Brian Jon and Laurie (MacPherson) Gardner. Christopher attended the Tootin’ Hills Elementary School, Henry James Memorial School, and was a graduate of Simsbury High School, Class of 2012. Following a year at Franklin Pierce University, he transferred to Eastern Connecticut State University where he would have graduated this December with a major in Business and a minor in Environment Studies. Throughout his childhood, Chris actively participated in Simsbury Youth Hockey and Simsbury Little League. He was a member of the First Church of Christ in Simsbury and confirmed in 2008. He passionately enjoyed golf, snowboarding, fishing, hiking, frisbee and spending time outdoors. Chris always loved being with his many friends, whether attending music festivals, concerts, camping, or simply enjoying each other’s company. He was an avid fan of Phish, Twiddle, and the Boston Red Sox. Besides his adoring parents, he is survived by his beloved sisters, Courtney and Abigail of West Simsbury; his grandparents, Bruce and Carol MacPherson of Yarmouth Port, MA and Ruth Gardner of Binghamton, NY; his aunts and uncles, Janet and William Younker of Boston, MA and Mark and Patricia Gardner of Endicott, NY; his cousins, Jennifer and Craig Gibson, William and Jessie Younker, Gregory and Geoff Gardner and many extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, William Gardner. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2nd, 11:00 AM at the First Church of Christ, 689 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury.
