I grew up on a dirt road in Granby where Dr Cannon's car could be seen driving in our driveway regularly. He would grab his black bag and meet my mother at the front door to see what the latest sickness my three brothers and I had encountered.

He saw us through the usual mumps, German measles, regular measures etc, but I seemed to come down with others like Scarlett fever and  croup too. I remember being sick so often and once upon seeing his car drive into the driveway I locked myself in the bathroom because I knew I was going to get another shot!

He was doctor to so many of the rural community, even trying to save my grandmother from East Hartland when she had her heart attack.

He was an integral  part of our lives and even though I hated to see him coming he was always kind to me.  Thank you Dr Cannon.
