Ralph Anthony DiMartino
Ralph Anthony DiMartino, 89, of Farmington, husband of the late Gloria (Piasio) DiMartino died Thursday, November 17, 2016 at his home. He was born March 1, 1927 in Naples, Italy, son of the late Sabatino and Theresa (D’Auria) DiMartino and had lived in Lakewood, NJ and Brooklyn, NY prior to moving to Farmington six years ago. Ralph was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. DiMartino was an Architect with The City of New York and private architectural firms for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Church of Saint Ann in Avon and a member of the Knights of Columbus while living in Brooklyn. Ralph enjoyed playing and watching golf, following politics, designing and building small scale model houses and most of all loved spending time with his family, especially his great grandchildren.
He is survived by his two daughters, Deborah Joyce and her husband Peter of Canton and Claudia DiMartino of Sherman Oaks, CA; his granddaughter, Kiera Ramirez and her husband Armando of Burlington; his great grandchildren, Ethan and Brenna Ramirez; his nephews, John DiMartino and wife Karen, Wayne Nardolillo and wife Josephine and Mark Nardolillo and wife Michele and his niece Terry LaBarca and husband Tony. He was predeceased by his brother Pat DiMartino.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 22nd at the Church of Saint Ann, 289 Arch Road in Avon. The family will have a time of remembrance at church prior to the Mass, starting at 10:00 AM. Private burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Toms River, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Salesian Missions, 2 Lefevre Lane, New Rochelle, NY 10801.
