David Elmer Lamb
David Elmer Lamb, 82, of Simsbury, husband of the late Shirley (Perrault) Lamb, died Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Governors House in Simsbury. He was born August 23, 1934 Palmer, MA, son of the late Harold Francis and Harriet (Payne) Lamb and had lived in Bondsville, MA prior to moving to Simsbury 58 years ago. Mr. Lamb was the Superintendent of Buildings at Ethel Walker School in Simsbury for many years prior to his retirement. Dave was a driver for the Simsbury Volunteer Ambulance and a part-time Police Officer on the Simsbury and Granby departments. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. Bowling, playing horseshoes and woodworking.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Lamb of Meriden; his sons, Russell Lamb and Kevin Lamb and his wife Diane, all of Simsbury; his brother, Roger Lamb and his wife Marilyn of Munson, MA; his grandchildren, Amber, Brett, Katrina, Karen, David, Bobby, Jamie and Billy and his great grandchildren, Cayden, Charlotte, Keira and Fiona. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a son, David “Butch” Lamb.
Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Thursday, December 15th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral service will be at the funeral home at 10:00 on Friday, December 16th with burial to follow in Simsbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Simsbury Volunteer Ambulance Association, PO BOX 301, Simsbury CT 06019.
