Stella M. Kobza (Zapatka)
Stella M. (Zapatka) Kobza, 101, of Simsbury, wife of the late Joseph J. Kobza, died Friday, January 6, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. She was born November 4, 1915 in Simsbury, daughter of the late Frank and Martha (Orzol) Zapatka and had been a lifelong resident of Simsbury. Mrs. Kobza was a secretary at Kaman Aerospace in Bloomfield and the Vincent Funeral Home of Simsbury for many years prior to her retirement in 1972. She was a member of AARP, the Simsbury Senior Center and St. Mary's Church and Women's Guild. Stella was an ardent bridge player and enjoyed volunteering.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Paul Kobza and his wife Deborah of Florida and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and John Zapatka; two sisters, Mary Klemonsky and Anna Tarascio. Stella’s family would like to extend a special thanks to Sandra and Woody Bronsord and Joan and Rex Hawley.
Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Thursday, January 12th from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church in Simsbury.
