Mary A. (Zeruk) Zahorodni, 86, of Simsbury, wife of the late Peter T. Zahorodni died Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Apple Rehab in Avon surround by her loving family. She was born September 14, 1924 in Hartford, daughter of the late Michael and Eva (Kohan) Zeruk and had lived in Bloomfield prior to moving to Simsbury 21 years ago. Mrs. Zahorodni worked for the Bloomfield Public School System for many years prior to her retirement.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Peter T. and Susan Zahorodni of Simsbury and Gary A. and Deborah Zahorodni of Avon; her daughter and son-in-law with whom she resided with for many years, Debra Z. and Steve Farrell of Weatogue; seven grandchildren, Kelly Zahorodni, Kate, Peter and Sarah Zahorodni and Jamie, Andrew and Chelsea Farrell; a sister-in-law, Myrtle B. Kohan and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Max Zeruk, Victor Zeruk and Mikhal Kohan. The family would like to thank the staff at Apple Rehab for the compassionate care given to Mary.

Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury on Sunday, October 24th from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, October 25th, 1:30 PM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 265 Stratton Brook Road, West Simsbury. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford.
